The department has 85 beds and is located on three floors of the obstetric building.
Work in the department for newborn children is carried out according to the principles of WHO (World Health Organization) - early breastfeeding (within the first hour of the child’s life); SSC (skin-to-skin contact) during physiological childbirth with both the child’s mother and father, if the mother’s condition does not allow this; priority of breastfeeding and early coexistence of mother and child.
All newborn children undergo audio screening, ECG examination, examination for phenylketonuria and hypothyroidism and other therapeutic and diagnostic measures in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus dated April 18, 2022. No. 34 “Clinical protocols for diagnosis, resuscitation and intensive care in neonatology.” Immunoprophylaxis against hepatitis B (Euvax B) and tuberculosis (BCG-M) is carried out.
The department has a highly qualified and well-coordinated team, an atmosphere of goodwill and attentive attitude towards patients and their families.
