About the department

The obstetric physiological department of the 1st City Clinical Hospital is located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the obstetric building. The department has 45 beds for postpartum women.

The main activities of the employees of the obstetric physiological department are: providing highly qualified care to women in the postpartum period, their rehabilitation after normal and pathological childbirth, including postpartum women with cardiovascular and endocrine pathologies.

In the obstetric physiological department there are superior rooms with single and double occupancy for postpartum women, equipped with an individual bathroom and shower, TV, refrigerator, electric kettle, microwave oven, and a set of tableware. There is also a “family-type” ward, where excellent conditions have been created for a postpartum woman to stay with her husband or one of her relatives around the clock.

Management of the postpartum period in postpartum women is carried out at the modern level:

• mother and child staying together immediately after birth;
• early breastfeeding and teaching the principles of breastfeeding;
• the use of physical therapy and physiotherapeutic treatment methods;
• carrying out work on hygienic training and promotion of a healthy lifestyle, contraception issues and other topical issues.

Mothers are discharged after childbirth as early as possible (on the 3rd-5th day of the postpartum period, depending on the method of delivery and the condition of the mother).
