About the department
The obstetric observation department is called a “mini-maternity hospital in a maternity hospital” because pregnant patients are treated here, it also has its own cozy separate maternity ward and its own operating room, and women in the postpartum period are also recovering.
The staff of the department is a team of like-minded people, in which exceptional friendliness and respectful attitude of employees create a particularly warm atmosphere. The department has experienced, caring staff who help women easily adapt to their new condition and make caring for their newborn easier.
The work of the department is supervised by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Belarusian State Medical University, providing medical and advisory assistance.

The specifics of the work of the obstetric observation department are:
- management of premature birth from 32 weeks of pregnancy.
- provision of medical services assistance during pregnancy, childbirth at high infectious risk, including premature rupture of amniotic fluid and a long anhydrous interval
- management of pregnancy and childbirth in minor patients, as well as in patients with congenital malformation of the fetus
- provision of medical services assistance in case of postpartum complications, including infectious ones.
- management of pregnancy and childbirth in women with diseases of the cardiovascular and endocrine systems.
- pain relief during labor, including through the widespread use of regional anesthesia methods (epidural, spinal analgesia).
The department has rooms equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay for mother and child. All rooms have an individual toilet, shower, and are equipped with special medical beds for postpartum women, a crib for a child, and a changing table. with a cozy atmosphere.
The department implements a program to “support and encourage breastfeeding”, “technologies” for proper feeding, and provides information about the benefits of natural breastfeeding.
The department is equipped with modern diagnostic equipment, all the necessary medications and equipment to provide qualified medical care to a woman and her child.
Every day, postpartum women receive training on caring for a newborn, hygiene of the postpartum period, and, if necessary, qualified psychological and legal assistance can be provided.
Discharge after childbirth is made on the 3rd day, after a cesarean section on the 5th day (in the absence of medical contraindications).
Upon discharge from the maternity hospital, recommendations are given on possible methods of contraception, taking into account the nature of the concomitant ectrogenital disease and the method of delivery.
