As part of events dedicated to the upcoming 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, members of the primary trade union organization of the health care institution “1st City Clinical Hospital” visited the memorial complex “Children Victims of War”, also called Children’s Khatyn, located in the village of Krasny Bereg, Gomel region. This is the only memorial monument in the CIS dedicated to the tragedy of children during the Great Patriotic War.

“This important place reminds us of the heroism and courage of children who bore the heavy cross of war on their fragile shoulders. The innocent lives of these children were lost in the name of our freedom and independence. We are obliged to pass on these stories to future generations so that they understand the value of the peace and prosperity that we have today,” commented the acting chairman of the PPO Tatyana Karpenko on the visit to the memorial.

The trip of the institution’s staff also passed through the estate of Lieutenant General Gatovsky and the Bulgakov palace and park complex, where the institution’s staff was able to feel the special atmosphere of ancient traditions, luxurious palaces, ancient temples and unique museum collections.
