Fire-hazardous period: observe safety regulations
23.03.2026
Every year, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations identify careless handling of fire by citizens and burning of dry vegetation, that is, the human factor, among the main causes of fires in natural ecosystems. It is human carelessness, negligence and disregard for basic safety rules that lead to the most unpredictable consequences.
Be careful with fire during the fire season!
-In any case, do not burn the grass. In addition to being harmful to plants and animals, sticks can also be dangerous to humans.
-Refrain from using an open fire in forests, peat bogs, and household plots. The risk of fire development is especially high in strong winds. Do not leave a burning fire unattended. Carefully extinguish the cigarette butts and matches before throwing them away.If you notice a fire, don't pass it by.
-You can extinguish the grass that starts to burn yourself. When extinguishing with improvised means, you can knock down the flame from the edge of the fire with a bunch of twigs or branches of deciduous trees, or throw sand at the edge of the fire.
-After putting out the fire, do not leave until you are sure that the fire does not flare up again. If you realize that you will not be able to extinguish the flame yourself, immediately report the incident by calling 101 or 112 and try to leave the fire site as soon as possible.
-Keep an eye out for bans on visiting forests.
Remember that you will have to pay for illegal burning of dry vegetation. According to article 16.40 of the Code of Administrative Offences, the fine will range from 10 to 30 basic units. Campfires in prohibited areas will cost up to 12 basic units (Article 16.41 of the Administrative Code). But if the damage turns out to be particularly large, criminal liability may occur.
