Every year the number of cases increases by 25-30 people. For 2022 in Minsk, 296 cases of malignant diseases of the oral cavity, pharynx, and lips were identified, of which 186 cases were in an advanced stage (62.8%). Of these, 91 people lived 5 or more years from the moment of diagnosis, i.e. only 48.9%.Most often, cancer of the tonsil is detected in an advanced stage - more than 87%, cancer of the gums and oropharynx - in 81% of cases, and cancer of other parts of the oral cavity in an advanced stage is 80%.In the nosological structure of mortality among the male population, cancer of the oral cavity and pharynx is in fourth place (after lung, stomach, prostate cancer) - 117 cases (6.8%).Mortality from cancer of the oral cavity and pharynx among men of working age is in second place (after lung cancer) - 65 cases (12%).In the structure of the incidence of head and neck tumors, 67% are occupied by tumors of the oral cavity and pharynx, which belong to visual localizations, i.e. For early detection of this oncological pathology, it is not necessary to conduct additional diagnostic studies other than examination of the oral cavity.
