From February 02 to 08, 2026 in Minsk, the State Traffic Inspectorate is conducting a preventive action under the conditional name "Sobriety is the norm on the road!" aimed at preventing and suppressing the facts of driving drunk drivers who do not have the right to drive.

On an ongoing basis, employees  State traffic police are working to identify and bring to justice these intoxicated persons.

Driving under thе influence of alcohol is a dangerous and gross violation.

Traffic regulations. In particular, drunken pedestrians pose a special danger on or near the roadway.

Serious liability is provided for participation in traffic while intoxicated. In case of repeated commission of such a violation, drivers may be held accountable. criminal liability.

We remind you that for drunk driving, the administrative penalty depends on the concentration of alcohol in the blood or its vapors in the exhaled air: up to 0.8 ppm — a fine in the amount of  100 basic units with the deprivation of the right of management for a period of 3 years; over  0.8 ppm — 200 basic units with the deprivation of the right of management for a period o 5 years.

According to current legislation, a traffic violation by a pedestrian committed in a state of intoxication, as well as  failure to undergo an examination in accordance with the established procedure to determine the state of intoxication entails the imposition of a fine in the amount of 3 to 5 basic units. If the violation caused the creation of an emergency situation, as well as the commission of an accident, the amount of the fine will increase and will range from 3 to 8 basic units.
