In Trostenets, a requiem meeting will be held at the Gates of Memory monument on June 22. It is dedicated to the Day of National Remembrance of the victims of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people.
Victory over the enemy in the Great Patriotic War was achieved at the cost of great sacrifices and irreparable losses of the Belarusian people. The German invaders left behind a terrible bloody trail, troubles and unprecedented devastation. It was a pre-developed, deliberate and purposeful plan for genocide, destruction of people, plunder of the country's national wealth , and liquidation of the state system. In the occupied territory, the Nazis discarded all international legal norms. In the occupied territory of the BSSR, the Nazis created more than 260 death camps to exterminate prisoners of war and civilians . The crimes of the occupiers in their massive scale and terrible cruelty had no equal in the modern history of Belarus.
The sacred duty of all Belarusians is to remember these events themselves, and also not to let others forget or, especially, distort the truth about the history of our country
