On a sunny autumn day, our group of employees of the healthcare institution “1st City Clinical Hospital”, together with TIC LLC “Travel”, went on a trip to Novogrudok.
The tour program included a wonderful and educational sightseeing tour of Novogrudok, the first capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the city of Mindaugas and Adam Mickiewicz. We visited the house-museum of Adam Mickiewicz, a world-famous poet, publicist, and social and political figure.
We visited the private gallery of a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, Kastus Kachan, which gave us a unique opportunity to make an entertaining journey into the history of the Belarusian province, where unique examples of noble dishes made of Belarusian glass and antique furniture were presented. The tour ended in a small living room, where, in a cozy atmosphere while talking with the owner of the gallery, we were offered a cup of aromatic herbal tea with a treat. A few kilometers from the city of Novogrudok there is a small lake called Litovka, one of Adam Mickiewicz’s favorite places, which is known all over the world thanks to his poem “Grazhina”. It was to Lake Litovka, the heroine of the poem, dressed in her husband’s armor, that she led an army from Novogrudok to fight the crusaders. But the price of victory was too great... We were able to plunge into history and learn about these great events by watching the fascinating animated program “Grazhina”.
After lunch in a cafe and an independent walk to visit souvenir shops and photos, our path lay back to Minsk. We were all charged with positive energy and good mood.
